4 Months Old

My big boy is 4 months old already!  (well almost 5 by the time I posted this)

Shawn and I were looking at a picture of him at 2 weeks old and it totally weirded us out! I can't see any resemblance to the baby he is today. He looks so incredibly different now! From the moment he was born he's been growing at an exponential rate. Every time he's been placed on a scale, my jaw has dropped and I've thought the number was wrong. My latest guess was off by over 2lbs!

Henry weighs 19lbs 11oz...... NINETEEN POUNDS ELEVEN OUNCES.... at 4 months old!

He is so big!

Mae weighed 18lbs 8oz at 1 year old! He's only 2 1/2 inches shorter than she was at a year. He is 26 1/2 in tall.

Off the charts in weight
90th percentile in height
80th percentile in head circumference

I was really worried when I saw his weight but the doctor looked at his growth curve and just said he is a big  baby. I hear the comment weekly calling Henry a "linebacker". He is very broad.

He currently wears only 12 month clothes.

He has not  been a great sleeper. I'm a firm believer that babies will sleep how they sleep. I don't think that if a baby sleeps 12 hours straight at 6 weeks old that the parent necessarily did anything but they got blesses by Jesus and should thank him accordingly! haha

We started sleep training but that should be in the 5 month update since I started just this week.

The whole of month 4 he was waking every 1-4 hours at night and taking 30 min naps most days. Things have been improving this week. In a couple weeks I hope to say he's sleeping through the night, Lord willing! : )

Henry is still the happiest baby ever. He laughs all the time and smiles every single time you talk to him. He is in his jumper most of the day. He love to bounce and that is what he is currently doing. He jumps as high as it will let him go! He really is the easiest baby as far as temperament. It has enabled me to do a lot of things that I would have been more hesitant to do with Mae. I've taken them to the zoo, silver dollar city, our water park and many playdates. He's never had a meltdown and never cries in the car. We are so blessed with our happy, handsome, chunky, boy!

His hair started brown and then turned red and now most of it has fallen out and it's coming in blonde.

Now for some pictures

Kirk Visit

The Kirk were in Springfield and we were thrilled that they came and spent a whole day with us. Mae and Jude were thrilled to see each other. Mae doesn't get along with any kid the way she does with Jude. They love each other so much and it's so sweet.

They came early in the morning and we went to Silver Dollar City. Unfortunately I came down with some terrible stomach cramps and was stuck in the bathroom for an hour. I had Shawn drive the car to the employee entrance to come get me. The kirks left with us and I felt terrible that I ruined their Silver Dollar City experience. We came home and ate lunch and I started to feel much better. After the kids naps, I was feeling 100%  and we went to the table rock dam and fish hatchery.

We hope to see them again soon! It was so fun to hang out with family.

Table Rock dam in the background. Heather holding the "twins". ; )

 So sweet!!!

We went to the fish hatchery because Heather remembered from a field trip as a kid that you could the fish. We only live like 3 minutes from there and Heather knew more about it than us! : ) We've been there many times since! (i hate this pic. The fish look like a bunch of snake when they're all eating.

April

I haven't been able to upload pictures because I didn't have a cord to connect my camera to the computer. My amazing mother somehow grabbed the cord I needed and brought it with her. I had been looking everywhere to buy the cord I needed and was having trouble.

April was a great month. Henry turned 3 months old and my mother came for two weeks.  We had some amazing days at Silver Dollar City. The weather was cool and the park was practically empty. It was perfect.

Henry's face is a little blurry in this but it's a nice picture of Shawn and I. ; )

We were skeptical of the goats

Watt Family Visit

I know this is almost two months late but better late then never, right? ; ) Anyways, Shawn's parents and sister came about a week after we moved to Branson. At first I was so stressed at the thought of anyone coming to our home when it was in such a messy, crowded, not-yet-unpacked-state but I realized it would be so nice to have some help and we knew they were here to see the kiddos and wouldn't care about the state of our home. While they were here Shawn and I got some much needed alone time and even got to go on a little shopping trip. We didn't really do anything while they were here but sit around and unpack but that is exactly what we wanted to do. I'm so glad they came. Once they brought out some presents Mae was easily won over and she loves them... and presents. haha She seriously asks about presents daily and sings happy birthday all the time!

Here are some photos. My camera was dead and emili's camera was missing a part so we only have Ipad pictures which I didn't realize till they left but it had a smudge on the camera so the pictures came out funny.

Update

We have been in Branson for 5 1/2 weeks. We've already had guests twice. Shawn's parents and sister came for a couple days two days after our stuff arrived. Our house looked like a bomb went off. I'll post about their trip next.

I don't make good sleepers apparently. Henry is sleeping better at night. He'll go about 5 hours. He had a rough start and only started sleeping better a couple weeks ago. He was horribly congested for 2 weeks. I was pretty concerned but right when we were about to take him to the doctor it cleared up. When he was congested he was up every 2 hours struggling to breath, poor boy. He is swaddled for now. Henry is a chronic 40 min napper. No matter what I do or don't do, he just can't get back to sleep after that first wake up. I feel bad letting him cry after he wakes because his body just won't let him fall back asleep. I'm learning to be laid back and be thankful for a healthy yet poor sleeping baby. We'll work more on sleep training later but for now I'm just enjoying my sweet boy.

Mae is talking more and getting a bigger personality daily. She can be such a goof ball and such a stinker all within 5 minutes. She gets 1 to 5 time outs a day. Recently I'll count to three and at "two" she'll say "sorry mommy" in the sweetest little voice. She's learning well. Praise the Lord she's not super strong willed. I'm sure we're due for a strong willed one soon. ; )

We took Henry to the doctor today to check out a lump in his chest which turned out just to be part of his sternum that just sticks out. He weighs 16lbs and is 26in long. He's in the 95% for both. The first doctor we went to in Branson said Henry was fat because I breastfeed to much, needless to say we won't be going back. The doctor we went to today who is exclusively for employees of Silver Dollar City said you can't overfeed a breastfed baby and to feed him whenever he wants. I'm glad he said this even though I know it's true. That first doctor was a joke!

Now onto some pictures!

Happy Boy!
