My sweet children are growing up so fast!
Mae is changing so much that I thought I would include her in an update too.
I'll start with Henry first since he is easier to sum up right now.
Henry is still not rolling over. He's so close from back to belly but doesn't even try from belly to back. He is over 20lbs so I think he just has a hard time. I'm not worried about it since he is so strong and developing in every other way.
We are working on sleeping through the night. He's not catching on despite letting him cry at night. I'm ready for him to sleep better! Naps are still not the best but most days I can get him to take a 2-3 hour nap in right after lunch which means nap time for mommy!!
Henry is so much more active. He just moves and wiggles and isn't as content. I think he's frustrated that he can move but not get anywhere. Anything and everything now goes in his mouth. He has such good hand eye coordination!
We've started solids in the last week or so. We skipped cereal. He's eaten a lot of avocado! He's also had little bits of mango, peas, pears, and quite a bit of prunes to help move everything out. He really loves to eat. Mae used to spit out like half of her food but Henry gulps it all. He gets excited and kicks his legs when he sees we have a bowl and spoon for him.
He is still the world happiest baby. He never fusses and he is so easy to take places. I take for granted how good he is and then I remember how bad Mae was and realize how blessed we are! I just bought some 18 month shirts which fit him pretty well. SLOW DOWN, sweet boy!
Mae Elizabeth is getting more personality daily. She makes us laugh all the time!
First of all, Mae loves her brother and he just adores her. She is always talking to him and grabbing his face and trying to sit on him and hold him. He seems crankier when she is not around. I think it's stimulating for him to see this pink blur going by him all the time.
Mae sleeps amazing! She sleeps 12 hrs straight at every night (last night she had a nightmare but it's been weeks since that happened) and loves to nap... with her pacis. We are in no hurry to get rid of pacis. She's quite attached. Mae will nap 2-3 1/2 hours still and it's so nice! She never fights going down. We put a mirror by her bed and she just looks at herself and talks when she wakes up.
She has very big emotions to say the least. She can be so fun and happy one second and then be throwing everything in sight or sprawled out on the ground banging her head the next second. Without a doubt she cries more in a day than Henry does. I'm afraid she's going to make a very easy target for her brother to pick on her. It'll toughen her up, right? The good times really outweigh the bad. When she is in a good mood it is the best! She dances and sings and wants to be chased.
She is talking better daily. The other day she said a seven word sentence.
I would say she is officially potty trained! She is on her potty this very second. She's been capable of it since Henry was born but has chosen not to. I'm sure all the massive life changes didn't help.
She loves swimming so much (after we sell our house with a pool!!) and has a massive meltdown anytime we leave a park because she is having so much fun. She makes friends everywhere. Her favorite friends are older girls who are lonely enough to play with her and nice enough to let her totally boss them around! She latches on to women very easily. If I have a play date she will grab the other moms hand and try to take her everywhere.
One of my favorite things Mae does is pray. She has the cutest prayers and concept of God. I love it.
She loves movies so much. I'm sure when she gets older Shawn will love having a movie buddy!
We are so thankful for our healthy happy children. Being a parent is the best.
